Pullenvale Environmental Education Centre is an Education Queensland campus where primary-aged children connect with nature. We provide full day excursions, incursions and professional development workshops for leaders and teachers as we work together to grow Connected Learners.
Our team of highly trained teachers use story, inquiry and performance to enrich students’ learning and grow their wellbeing. Teaching staff at Pullenvale Environmental Education Centre have designed a way of teaching that can be described as pedagogies of enchantment. Children become engaged as their senses, their minds and their hearts are awakened to ordinary events such as the sudden movement of wind through the trees, or rain collecting in crystal-clear puddles on the track, or the insistent call of birds and frogs, or reflecting on the wisdom of First Nation peoples whose ancestors walked the land for millennia. Moments of enchantment create a sense of delight and fascination with the natural world and deepen children’s interest in learning more about nature and the places where life continues to thrive.
