Pullenvale Environmental Education Centre

Students attending Ramble 'n' Play (Prep), Bugs R Us (Year 4) and History Hunters (Year 2) programs do not leave the PEEC grounds during the program day. Buses can stay onsite or leave and return for student pick up at the end of the day. All other programs do require buses to stay throughout the day to transport students to the relevant forest location.

Directions for bus transport:

Buses will need to enter Grandview Rd route from Moggile Rd (not from Pullenvale Rd (as online maps options tend to direct), as PEEC is situated on the southern side of Grandview Rd (i.e. on the left as you approach along Grandview Rd from Moggill Rd). If arriving via the Pullenvale Rd route, the bus will need to complete a lengthy turn-around in order to access the pull-in area outside the centre.

Parking:

Please note that there is very limited on-site parking for visitors. Visitors attending programs who arrive independently of the students' bus are requested to park on the far side of Airlie Rd and walk up to the PEEC main entrance.

Moggill Conservation Park

Forest Kingdom (Year 1), Muddles (Year 2), and Mission Earth (Year 3) programs access Moggill Forest Conservation Park via Mill Rd during the program day. The below map indicates where the bus will drop students along Mill Rd during this visit. The forest walk varies from 700m (Forest Kingdom) to 1.5km (Mission Earth) along unsealed bush paths, completed over an hour between approximately 11 - 12.30 for each program. All forest visits are conducted and supervised by registered teachers who are qualified and experienced in outdoor education.

Pullenvale Forest Park

The Hoodwinked (Year 5) program accesses Pullenvale Forest Park (entrance off Pullenvale Rd) during the program day. The below map indicates the drop-off point (just outside Pullenvale Forest Park) for this visit. The walk in to the creek location where students complete program activities is approximately 300m along unsealed bush paths. The visit is completed over an hour between approximately 9.30 - 11am. All forest visits are conducted and supervised by registered teachers who are qualified and experienced in outdoor education.

Karawatha Forest

The Wander the Way of the Water (Year 6) program is completed off-site, at Karawatha. Students will start their day at the Acacia Picnic Ground (dropp off at the Karawatha Forest Discovery Centre carpark) for an introductory session, and will then be transported by bus to the start of their walk (entrance off Compton Rd). They will be picked up at the end of the program day at the Elizabeth St exit. This walk is approximately 4km along unsealed bush paths. All forest visits are conducted and supervised by registered teachers who are qualified and experienced in outdoor education.

See the Wander the Way of the Water program page for more details of the walk.
