PEEC values inclusion and accessibility across our programs. We do appreciate differentiation requests and requirements as early as possible, so that our expert teaching team and grounds staff are able to make arrangements for the appropriate adjustments to program for full class inclusion. Please include details on your Excursion Information Form, you contact the PEEC office to discuss these further.
Please note that while the Centre is gradually working towards installing additional accessibility options, currently due to the nature of our grounds and sites visited, programs may need some site-usage modification to cater for mobility inclusion needs.
All indoor teaching spaces at PEEC are air conditioned and fully ventillated. Onsite spaces that are currently fully accessible include our administration buildings and deck area (which has an accessible ramp and toilet), and the grounds and outside teaching areas of the Arts Office (which also includes access to a second accessible toilet). Laidley Theatre and Laidley Lunch Shed are also accessible via a 100m 'bush track' (unpaved driveway). It is possible to modify programs usually run within Dayboro Cottage, the Old School and/or Mopoke Lunch Shed to deliver within these accessible spaces as necessary. While our 'usual' forest-visit sites utilise unpaved firetrails and bush paths, we are able to modify delivery and/or location of our nature-connection sessions to allow for full inclusion when mobility needs require this.
Notification and discussion of accessibility needs are requested as early as possible in order to facilitate any modifications needed to program space and/or delivery. If you do have student(s) attending who require this, we would request that, as well as including these details on your Excursion Information Form, you contact the PEEC office on (07) 3374 1002 to discuss these in more detail asap.
