We were very fortunate to have had Uncle Joe, Aunty Sarah, Aunty Peggy and Uncle James celebrate the opening of our new Yarning Circle with us with a smoking ceremony (thank you Uncle Joe) and a yarn together about the importance of tradition and sharing our own personal histories. Gratitude to Uncle Joe and Aunty Sarah for painting a beautiful sign for the Yarning Circle, incorporating the King Parrot who has become a significant bird for us here at PEEC. Thank you to all of our Elers for cotinuing to share their wisdom, traditions and culture with us and to support us in sharing knowledges with our students and continuing to grow reconciliation and respect.
Our Yarning Circle is located at the top of 'Harvey's Backyard', and is a key place of sharing in our Ramble 'n' Play (Prep) program, as well as in some of our specialist programs, including Connected Teacher and Kindy on Country.
